TROOPS TO COLLEGE
Created in 2008, the TAMU Troops to College Committee (T2C) began under the leadership of the Executive Director of Scholarships & Financial Aid. In 2012, T2C responsibilities were moved under the new Veteran Resource & Support Center (VRSC) in the Division of Student Affairs. In 2013, T2C was reorganized to include more student representation and Co-Chair responsibilities between both the VRSC and Scholarships & Financial Aid. In 2019, T2C membership exceeded 50 staff, faculty, and students.
The Texas A&M University Troops to College Committee (T2C) provides advice and support for the development, improvement, and implementation of services and programs that will facilitate military-affiliated student success from “application to vocation.”
Designated Key Tasks:
- Promote student veteran success and awareness.
- Develop and refine priorities for military-affiliated student initiatives and goals.
- Facilitate military-affiliated student data collection and program assessment.
The Texas A&M University Troops to College Committee (T2C) will serve as a state and national model that is known for efficiently maximizing university and other resources to consistently improve academic, financial, and transition support that prepares military-affiliated Aggies for future leadership roles in a global society.
T2C meets routinely during the Fall and Spring semesters. For more information, contact Jerry Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org or 979-845-3161.
