Scholarships & Financial Support Programs
Financial concerns carry a heavy influence on Aggie Veteran success. We strongly believe that money should never come between a veteran and their education, which is why we have established a number of financial support programs aimed to ensure Aggie Veteran financial stability, each one with a unique focus.

Scholarships
The VRSC Scholarship Program is designed to provide general financial assistance to veteran and military students and/or their enrolled spouses with the greatest need. Scholarships will be offered to qualified* applicants who have completed at least one semester at Texas A&M University. All veteran and military students are encouraged to apply for these scholarships each year.
Apply using the UWIDE Continuing Student Scholarship Application
In addition to the general Aggie Ring Scholarships available through the university, the VRSC offers Aggie Ring Scholarships for Veteran and Military Students. Scholarships are awarded to students with a verified military status (“VETV”) who meet the Association of Former Students eligibility requirements and cannot be awarded retroactively (post-graduation or after a ring has been ordered). The value of the scholarship issued is based on the size of the ring being ordered, as follows: $500 for a small (“women’s”) ring and $1,000 for a large (“men’s”) ring.
Current veteran and military students must complete the online application process, which includes uploading a prepared personal narrative (500 word max.), by the application deadline (even if not yet eligible to order). Application deadlines are set based on student’s graduation date and corresponding AFS ring ordering windows.
APPLICATION DEADLINES:
Spring/summer graduates: Feb. 1 of year prior to graduation year
Fall graduates: Sept. 1 of year prior to graduation year
APPLICATIONS RECEIVED AFTER THE APPLICATION DEADLINE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
EXCEPTIONS: Spring and summer 2026 graduates must apply by May 1, 2025.
Financial Support
Emergencies happen and many times they have a hefty financial component. The Student Aggie Veteran Enhancement (SAVE) Fund is there to help. SAVE funding provides financial assistance to Aggie Veterans in a time of crisis, hardship or extreme and unusual circumstances. This fund helps those Aggies remain in school when their financial security is at risk. It not only facilitates completion by promoting academic success and financial fitness, it helps Aggie Veterans preserve their college ambitions throughout unexpected/unforeseen financial challenges.
To date, the SAVE funds have directly contributed to the 96% graduation rate of those who have benefited from this fund.
Eligible Aggie Veterans can receive emergency assistance up to $1,500 to help alleviate financial hardships that threaten their continued enrollment and success. Currently enrolled Aggie Veterans should complete the SAVE Application Request Form for eligibility criteria and application.
The rising cost of childcare should not be the determining factor in an Aggie Veterans ability to successfully remain enrolled. The SAVE-SP Childcare Fund provides limited financial assistance to Aggie Veterans that helps offset the financial burden of childcare. Parenting Aggie Veterans are strongly encouraged to seek additional information about this program that could help. For more information, eligibility criteria, and application, please complete the SAVE-SP Assistance Request Form.
Food Resources
Located within the VRSC is a Pocket Pantry, which provides discreet and easy access to non-perishable food and personal hygiene items. Any VRSC staff member can provide access to the pantry, which is generously funded through a grant from Brazos Valley Cares.
Additionally, Student Life has Pocket Pantries across campus. The purpose of the Pocket Pantry program is to provide temporary relief to Texas A&M students in need who are experiencing food insecurity by providing immediate access to non-perishable food and toiletries before directing them to additional support resources on campus.
The 12th Can is a student-run food pantry located at Texas A&M to serve all students, faculty, and staff in need of assistance. The pantry operates using a hybrid pantry model, blending elements of a client-choice pantry with prepackaged distribution. Clients visiting the pantry can select the items they need, similar to shopping at a grocery store.
The 12th Can is open twice a month. Dates and times are located on the website.
The vision of the Brazos Valley Food Bank is a hunger-free Brazos Valley. The Brazos Valley Food Bank (BVFB), a 501c3 nonprofit, is a central food distribution site that utilizes millions of pounds of food, millions of dollars and thousands of “friends” (volunteers) to bring the Brazos Valley closer to hunger-free, feeding tens of thousands of unique individuals annually.
